The reconciliation (at-one-ment) of us humans with God, through Jesus’ self-giving (sacrifice) and his resurrection. The history of how Christian theologians from the beginning have sought to explain atonement is an important subject. This site takes the position that it has always been ourselves, the human race, who have needed to change our minds about God, not God whose attitude toward us needed to be changed by Jesus’ crucifixion. From the beginning the Trinity have loved us constantly and unchangeably, and sought to free us from the fear that our lives are meaningless or doomed.
